First, let's talk the basics:
Transportation - The best way to get around San Francisco is by using the city's public transportation system, which includes buses, streetcars, and iconic cable cars. Additionally, I highly recommend renting an electrical bike, specifically for those steep streets, as it is such a fun way to explore the city's many diverse neighborhoods and iconic landmarks.

The Fairmont San Francisco also boasts several dining options, a world-class spa, and a rooftop garden with panoramic views.
1. Lombard Street - Famous steep zigzag road
If you're looking for a unique experience and a great spot for pictures, Lombard Street should be at the top of your list. Known as the "most crooked street in the world," this famous street features eight sharp turns and a steep incline. You can witness a beautiful narrow view of the city when you are at the top of the street. If you choose to drive down the street, I am sure would be a fun and dizzy ride. This street can get quite packed so if you want to avoid photoshopping, head there before sunrise.
2. Walk along the pier and visit PIER 39 to watch the loud sea lions
Located in the heart of San Francisco's waterfront, PIER 39 is a popular destination for tourists and locals. There is lots of life here. From the fun street performers to the crowds searching for the best street food, shopping, and picturesque spots nearby, this PIER is a must if you want to get a good feel of SF. Here you can walk along the pier and enjoy stunning views of the San Francisco Bay, the Golden Gate Bridge, and the city skyline. Make sure to visit the cute sea lions that call the pier home. At first, it was tough finding them but we asked a local and we just had to walk a bit further down. They have their own area where you can watch them bask in the sun and yell their signature honks.
3. Take a boat to see Alcatraz Prison- Once home to Al Capone
Solitary Prisons always fascinate me, it's kinda like visiting a deserted island with empty homes. It's an intrigue that I am sure most have, if you are one of them you must visit this one, once home to some of the country's most notorious criminals, including Al Capone. The prison is now a national park and a fascinating piece of history. You can take a boat tour to the island, explore the prison cells, and learn about the crazy lives of its inhabitants. A MUST.
4. Visit the famous Ghirardelli Square to shop & have the best chocolate experience
If you are a chocolate lover, you will be very happy to discover Ghirardelli Square. Admission is free and here you'll find the famous Ghirardelli chocolate factory, where you can indulge in their yummy chocolate treats such as chocolate bars, hot chocolate, baked goods, ice creams, milkshakes, and more! You can even watch the chocolatiers at work. You'll also find a variety of shops and restaurants to explore while you're there. I stumbled upon many stores like cute dog clothing stores, skincare shops, fragrance shops, and more. But one store in particular, called LOLA, stood out to me because of these two DELICIOUS-smelling candles shown below. If you're ever there, smell these and thank me later.
5. Visit the first Fairmont to exist which sits on top of Nob hill
The Fairmont San Francisco, first built in 1907 is a historic hotel that stood tall on top of Nob Hill even after the massive earthquake that ruined almost all of SF. Since on top of the hill, it offers stunning views of the city on their rooftop garden and is known for its luxurious accommodations and excellent service. The hotel has a famous hallway, lined with photographs of presidents and celebrities who stayed there. Whether you're a history lover or simply seeking a luxurious and memorable experience in San Francisco, The Fairmont is an iconic destination that shouldn't be missed.
Make sure to stop by and explore the hotel, even if you're not staying there. You can even head to bar and enjoy a lovely cocktail.
6. Head to the famous Painted Ladies- Seen in many movies
The Painted Ladies are a row of Victorian homes located in the Alamo Square neighborhood of San Francisco. These colorful homes are a popular attraction for visitors and have been featured in many movies and TV shows. A great location for quality content. The bike ride to this location was worth it, you can then ride through the neighborhood and admire the stunning architecture and views of the city.
7. Japanese Tea Garden
Firstly, the bike ride from Painted Ladies to the Japanese Garden was beautiful, riding through parks and streets was very memorable. Located in Golden Gate Park, after a lot of biking, the Japanese Tea Garden is the perfect peaceful oasis to visit in the heart of the city. The garden features stunning landscapes, traditional Japanese architecture, and a variety of plants and trees. After your visit, head to the restaurant on-site and enjoy green tea, mochi ice cream, or udon noodles.
Ticket: Around $12
8. Bike through the famous Golden Gate Bridge and head over to Sausalito for a more relaxing atmosphere!
Walking through the Golden Gate is cool, but biking will feel electric! You get a rush while charging your senses, from the views of this iconic bridge to the noise of the fast cars passing near you, to the smell of the ocean, to the workout on your bike; I HIGHLY recommend it.
Once you reach the other side, you will feel like deserve an award. Your reward will be the charming town of Sausalito. Here you will experience a more relaxed atmosphere, filled with beautiful homes, cute boutiques, stunning views and most importantly great food!
9. If you like seafood, you MUST go to a seafood restaurant. It will not disappoint here.
San Francisco is known for its fresh seafood, and there are plenty of seafood restaurants to choose from. From seafood chowder to oysters on the half shell, you won't be disappointed with the variety and quality of seafood dishes available in San Francisco. Some popular seafood spots include Fisherman's Wharf, Scoma's, and The Crab House. The pictures above and below are from Scoma's in Sausalito, SO GOOD 10/10.
10. Take a ferry back to San Fran to witness San Fran’s beautiful skyline at night
The San Francisco skyline is a breathtaking sight, especially during sunset when the city lights up. Take a ferry with your bikes back to the city after a day of exploring Sausalito and witness the stunning views of the skyline from the water. It was a bit confusing trying to find how to buy tickets for the ferry but we ended up finding a ticket station by the dock, you pick your desired time and wait. The ride back was a perfect way to rest my legs and end the day in San Francisco.
Conclusion
In conclusion, San Francisco has so much to offer, from amazing weather, delicious food, and everything in between. Whether you're a first-time visitor or a seasoned traveler, there's always something new to discover in this charming city. So pack your bags now and get ready to fall in love with San Francisco!
